If you have contemplated taking a journey into charting but aren’t sure how to get started, then this session is for you!
Presenter Bio: Michael Patton is a senior software architect at Viscosity North America. He has been working in the Oracle universe since 2003, starting with APEX in 2009. Michael enjoys working with new developers to teach them the ins and outs of APEX—how to start with relational concepts and how to approach page development and reusable techniques.

Machine Learning 101 : Emerging Technology
This presentation will focus on what specific algorithms inside Oracle can be applied to business problems. Robots may be the first to truly learn machine learning (ML) and expand into artificial intelligence (AI). Python is one of the keys to machine learning as we program the invention of the mind to further replace humans’ most basic tasks. This session will focus on ML 101 and building the future ahead. Some business issues are seasonal, some relate to customers with certain attributes, and some relate to customers we don’t know exist, but all can be solved by using the correct algorithm to quickly prescribe a better corporate future.
Presenter Bio: Rich Niemiec is the chief innovation officer at Viscosity North America (www.viscosityna.com). He is a world-renowned Oracle tuning expert. Rich is an Oracle Ace Director and was the CEO and a co-founder of TUSC, a Chicago-based systems integrator of Oracle-based business solutions started in 1988. Rich has served as an executive advisor to Rolta International Board of Directors, as president of Rolta TUSC, and president of Rolta EICT. TUSC was the Oracle Partner of the Year in 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008, 2010 (Rolta TUSC), & 2011 (Rolta).
Rich is a past president of the International Oracle Users Group (IOUG) and the current president of the Midwest Oracle Users Group (MOUG). He is one of six originally honored worldwide Oracle certified masters. In 2017, he authored Oracle12c Release 2 Performance Tuning Tips & Techniques, an update of his previous four Oracle best sellers on Oracle8i, Oracle9i, Oracle10g, and Oracle11g performance tuning. Oracle 12c R2 Performance Tuning Tips & Techniques came out in March 2017. In 2015, he authored Quick Start Guide to Oracle Query Tuning for DBAs & Developers. Rich was inducted into the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame in 1998. He is a graduate of Purdue University, with a degree in electrical engineering.
